First Lutheran Church

A Witnessing, Inviting, Hospitable Christian Community
Sunday School
All Ages Welcome!
10:00 a.m.

Sunday Church School is for children ages 3 through 9th Grade.  The Sunday School office is on the first floor.  At 10:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings, the children meet together in the chapel for a brief time of singing and prayer.  They then go off with their individual classes which include a Bible lesson, art projects and singing.  The children donate their Sunday School offering money each month.  At Christmas the children put on a Christmas Pageant during worship for the whole congregation.  It might be a little wild and crazy, but it's always fun.

Confirmation classes are held twice a month on Sundays at 5:30 p.m for students in 7th and 8th grade.  The class includes youth from area Lutheran congregations. Informal discussions during class address what it means to be a Christian by sharing experiences and learning about the Bible and Luther's Small Catechism.

While the youth are learning, we also have many varied Adult Education Classes throughout the year.  Most Adult classes are 8 - 10 week sessions.  Some classes that have been offered were:  "Reformation Roots", "Making Sense of Scripture", "Making Sense of the Cross", "Surprised by Hope", "The Sacraments", "The Lord's Prayer", "Not a Silent Night", as well as others exploring the seasons of the church and our preparation for special holidays such as Christmas and Easter.  The classes often use DVD presentations followed by discussion.

Please  join in the discussion and bring your questions!

We would love to have you and your children take part in our Christian Education.  Join us and come feel the Spirit.
